The cloudLibrary allows you to borrow and read eBooks and eAudiobooks from your local public library for free. The Calgary Public Library does subscribe to the service – you will be required to enter your library card number and PIN to access the content.

This audio-only app helps children fall asleep independently using storytelling, music and soothing sounds. Although is targeted toward young children, older children may find the music and sounds helpful as well.


Box Breathing App Box Breathing – The Navy SEAL breathing technique

“This technique, also known as combat or tactical breathing, is an excellent way to reduce your stress and calm down.
This breathing strategy has been used by first responders, the military and athletes to focus, gain control and manage stress.
In addition, it appears to help control worry and nervousness.”

There is a fee for this app ($1.39 CDN).

You may choose to do an internet search of “Box Breathing” instead. You will find apps (free as well as fee-based), websites, and youtube videos demonstrating this breathing technique.

PsyberGuide is a website we quite like. PsyberGuide reviews and rates various Mental Wellness apps – a very useful resource when you are searching out apps and trying to decide which one to try.
