Mindfulness

What is Mindfulness?

Mindful.org defines Mindfulness as ” . . . the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.”           ( | October 8, 2014 )

There are a number of exercises and practices we can engage in to help us develop a more mindful, in-the-moment, approach to life. Many individuals have found that engaging in a mindfulness practice for a few minutes each day may help alleviate feelings of anxiety and mitigate stressors.

www.mindful.org is one of my favourite sites for information on Mindfulness.

Another site I liked that offers free guided mindfulness meditations is The Calm Wildcat- Virtual Calming Room. Here is the link to Guided Practice page: https://sites.google.com/seq.org/thecalmwildcat/mindfulness
