What is Mindfulness?
Mindful.org defines Mindfulness as ” . . . the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.” (Mindful Staff | October 8, 2014 )
There are a number of exercises and practices we can engage in to help us develop a more mindful, in-the-moment, approach to life. Many individuals have found that engaging in a mindfulness practice for a few minutes each day may help alleviate feelings of anxiety and mitigate stressors.
www.mindful.org is one of my favourite sites for information on Mindfulness.
Another site I liked that offers free guided mindfulness meditations is The Calm Wildcat- Virtual Calming Room. Here is the link to Guided Practice page: https://sites.google.com/seq.org/thecalmwildcat/mindfulness
